An air walker boot is a medical orthopedic device used to support and protect the foot and ankle after injuries such as fractures, sprains, tendon or ligament injuries, or post-surgical recovery. It is also known as a walking cast or controlled ankle motion (CAM) boot. The boot consists of a rigid outer shell for stability and an inner inflatable air bladder that provides adjustable compression, reduces swelling, and enhances comfort. Velcro straps secure the boot, and a rocker bottom sole allows for easier walking while reducing pressure on the injured area. The air walker boot helps immobilize the affected area while allowing limited mobility, making it a preferred alternative to traditional plaster casts. It is available in various sizes and heights (short or tall) based on the injury type. Easy to remove, it allows for better hygiene and wound inspection during recovery.
